Ballistic Recovery Parachutes for Electric Aircraft
The presentation will include the integration of electronic/autonomous activated ballistic recovery parachutes into light/medium sustainable aircraft. It will offer a discussion of the challenges in creating realistic algorithms for autonomous ballistic deployments, and the design constraints of low altitude/low airspeed vs. high altitude/high speed parachute canopies. Questions regarding acceptable sink-rates, remote activation, reusability and possible variations on the technology will be covered.
