Aircraft Performance Specs for On-demand, High Capacity Regional Sky Transit

The mass market for a sustainable system of Regional Sky Transit will require that the performance of its electrically powered Sky Taxis fulfill a certain combination of capabilities. Those combined capabilities can be predicted from the economics, community acceptance, land use policies, regulatory barriers, extant hardscape, user preferences and human factors involved. The predicted capabilities will include those relating to noise emissions, vehicle size, weight and power, runway lengths, autonomous operations, safety, speed and fuel/energy efficiency. Happily, electric propulsion and autonomous control promise that such combined capabilities can be met by a variety of aircraft design innovations, several of which will be explored in this presentation. A proposal to rapidly optimize the prototyping of such air vehicles will be offered.
