World’s Quietest Sky Taxi: The Sustainable Aviation Challenge
There are no less than 7 promising start-up Sky Taxi companies in the Silicon Valley area. These include Zee Aero, Kitty Hawk, Airbus “A3,”Aurora Flight Sciences, Uber, eHang and Joby. Each of these envisions what a Sky Taxi might look like if servicing high proximity aviation in a metro region. Every version is different and will have different capabilities.
“The Primacy of Noise” lecture will alert this new industry to the extreme noise constraints under which its air vehicles will likely have to operate and will illustrate how those constraints affect their design and market prospects. The latest breakthroughs in technologies relevant to creating ultra-quiet V/ESTOL Sky Taxis will be presented. SA’s tech prize for “World’s Quietest Sky Taxi”, the Sustainable Aviation Challenge, will be described.
